The Larry Bell Memorial Scholarship was started in honor of Divemaster Larry Bell after he passed away in his sleep on August 11, 2024. Larry always enjoyed working with kids and became a dive professional for the express purpose of working with junior divers. His face would light up when a kid would master a skill or overcome a fear. For this reason the scholarship is available for 4 junior diver candidates (10-17yo) to be trained together as a class in August of each year. The scholarship will cover tuition and gear rental, a more than $500 value for each student. Candidates must write a short essay on why they want to learn to scuba dive and submit it via E-mail to davidfrey526@gmail.com where it will be read by both myself and Larry’s widow Kathy.
